Sports voucher ‘be active’ plan

WORK has started on the new irrigation system at Balaklava Oval. Staff from Mid North Irrigation started laying underground pipes last week and are expected to be finished by next Thursday, allowing football training to resume. Players moved to school ovals in the interim. The irrigation system was partly funded by a State government Community Recreation and Sports Facilities grant of $100,000. The oval is expected to be ready for the first Balaklava home game on May 3.
