North’s 6-goal start sinks South

The Clare Derby was all over at quarter-time on Saturday after the Roosters flew out of the blocks and slammed home six unanswered goals to set up a 38-point win.

Demons skipper Brodie Murphy won the toss and for some crazy reason decided to kick north, into a 1 or 2-goal breeze and with Tyson Pawley playing his 200th senior game for North Clare they went bang with 2 minutes gone.

Chris Puiatti got the footy to Jayden White who marked, played on and from 45 metres out nailed the opening major.

Two minutes later Cohen Pettitt drove the footy inside fifty where Daniel Garrard did the crumbing and snapped the Roosters second.

Play came to a halt for a couple of minutes due to a flat football, but it didn’t stop North and after White missed a ping at goal from 30 metres out Garrard roved a bomb inside fifty from Matthew Nelson and snapped his second major from 40 metres out.
