Jamestown wig library helping build confidence

A new wig library being established in Jamestown is set to help cancer sufferers stay confident throughout their treatment journey.

The ‘BeWigged’ Wig Library is an initiative of the Northern Highlands Soroptimists group who were inspired to start the initiative after hearing of a similar loan service already running in Renmark.

After listening to the founders of the Caroline Bristow Wig Library speak at a Rural Women’s Gathering in Renmark, the Soroptimist group saw a need in their own Mid North community and set about making it a reality.

Members Mary Clark, Di McCarthy and Margie Simpson have been instrumental in getting the service started, and have plans to expand it with a dedicated Wig Library room expected to open in the next few months.
