Balaklava Primary School celebrated its 140th birthday last Thursday, heading back in time to relive ‘the good old days!’
Staff and students, dressed in clothing from different decades from the First Australians ‘til now, paraded down the main street to the Triangle where they were met by families, friends and WRC mayor, Rodney Reid, for an assembly.
After this, the parade headed back to the primary school for a delicious morning tea, including a cake cut by the school’s youngest and oldest students, Chase McCracken and Ashleigh
Everyone was then invited to join in the fun of old style games and bush dancing, along with the not-so-old Nutbush!
