THERE was a genuine buzz around the stables of Morphettville trainer, Ryan Balfour, after the relative rookie jagged the biggest prize of his career to date, the Balaklava Cup, on Wednesday.
By Thursday morning, Balfour had lost a fair bit of his voice but the joy in it made up for any lack of volume.
“It’s just starting to sink in,” he said. “It’s a great feeling, just pure jubilation.
“I’ve been around to see all the staff this morning, they’re a big part of it and they’re pretty proud about the day.”
It was evident just how much the coveted Cup victory meant.
