IN what can only be described as a liberating healing process, the health issues cited by Port Wakefield’s Dick Pain in his resignation as a councillor of Wakefield Regional Council last week have resolved.
Mr Pain, pictured left, put many hours of preparation work into his seven years service as an elected member but continuing frustrations led to his eventual departure last Monday.
“It was a very tough decision, I’ve tried to do the best I could when representing the community but it’s just one of those things,” he explained.
“There was a lot of frustration.
“I would do a lot of preparation but you can only do so much before you realise there’s probably a bit of a wall there.”
Mr Pain explained his attitude towards representing the region took a lot of commitment.
“My life was programmed around council meetings and community matters,” he said.
