A special Suffock Puff quilt started 50 years ago by Edna Brooks of Booborowie, was recently completed by the Burra Quilters and will soon be displayed in the Burra Town Hall as a lasting tribute to Edna.
The Suffock Puff pattern was given to Edna by her daughter Gwenda, and she started the project using scraps of material from her cupboard.
She passed away in 1998, after working on the quilt for more than 10 years, so never saw the project completed.
Edna’s family decided it would donate it to the Burra Quilters Group, to do with as they wished.
