Heat, bugs make games interesting

Friday night was a warm one and as a result, basketball commenced half an hour later.

The hot weather resulted in the cancellation of Hoops, which I have heard will now run a couple of extra sessions next year to compensate for weather cancellations, and it also meant there was no donut van in attendance.

It was unfortunate for the Hoops players, but heat and weather policies are put into place in the best interests of both players and coaches, and there isn’t much point in having these policies if we don’t abide by them.

The bugs were ridiculous, with a multitude of sizes, shape and colour and there were plenty being swallowed or attracted to players’ eyeballs.
