The third Sounds of Summer annual concert was held on Sunday in the Balaklava Uniting Church, raising funds for the Bible Society.
Each year, we have featured the pipe organ, with soloists and accompaniment for very lusty hymn singing.
This year, Michael Ford, from Maitland, played for the hymn singing, and this was a treat!
Solo organists were Kathy Niejalke, who showed some fancy footwork in a Bach Prelude, followed by a set of variations on ‘Guide me, Oh thou great Jehovah”, and Jarrad Thiele, who played Clementi sonata beautifully, followed by a rousing Trumpet Voluntary, with Isaac Hamann on the trumpet.
