A group of 21 artists of varying ability and mediums participated in the Burra Regional Art Gallery’s ‘Drawing on Country’ on Saturday, April 7 with the Burra Mine as the studio.
The free class sponsored by Country Arts SA attracted people from the local area, also Quorn, Adelaide and Victor Harbor.
In Burra for the first time, the original Drawing on Country project was developed in consultation with four communities across Lake Alexandrina. The event has expanded to celebrate Country Art’s 25th year of operation.
The session went for most of the day, including lunch and involved painting, sketching, drawing and photography allowing artists to interpret a perspective of the environment and their connection to place.
