Simon second in sprint stoush

BALAKLAVA V6 sprint car driver, Kym Simon, has enjoyed consistent form in recent weeks, with two second placings in his past two meets.

Kym, with crew including parents, Gary and Christine, along with Shane Pike, headed to King of the Riverland, based at Renmark, over the March long weekend,.

He finished fifth on the Saturday and third on the Sunday at Waikerie.

As a result, his total points for the weekend led to the Simon team finishing second overall.

Kym’s next meet was at Murray Bridge Speedway for the All-Sections Club event on Saturday night.

The evening produced some nailbiting racing.

Kym stayed strong all night and finished second.

First place went to Chris James, third to Steve Agars and Tyson McCarthy was fourth.

Kym will turn his attention to the V6 Titles at Whyalla on April 8, a track where he knows he can beat rival, Chris James, who continues to deny him a top of the podium finish so far this season.

Spencer Taylor took out first place in the Wingless Sprints with Joel Chadwick second and Brad Evans third.

In the AMCA Nationals, Jake Armstrong won, followed by Jason Robinson and Darren McCarthy, who was fighting to keep his overall lead in the class.

In the much-loved Street Stocks, Nigel Reichstein was the winner of the 20-lap feature race and after an eventful race, Matt Maynard took out second place, closely followed by Trae Ballantyne.

The sprint cars were added to the program and these winged cars never fail to exhibit exciting racing.

Ryan Jones finished first, with Matt Egel a close second and Keke Falland third.
