On Sunday, the state government ‘broke’ one of its election promises by scrapping a proposed right-hand tram turn from King Williams Street onto North Terrace.
While we are probably not surprised by a(nother) broken promise, this is one we should be happy about!
Putting in the tram turn was budgeted for $47m, but after ‘expert advice’, the pollies were told it would cost $70m to buy trams that could actually negotiate the turn!
So the big question is – where is that $47m going now?
